Toby Coppel

Co-founder and Partner
I am inspired by founders using technology to make the world a better place

Hi, I’m Toby. During my 25+ year journey in the tech industry, I have had the privilege to work with many inspiring entrepreneurs including Jerry Yang (Yahoo!) and Jack Ma (Alibaba). My formative professional years were spent working in Silicon Valley both as an investor and operator, including as Chief Strategy Officer at Yahoo!, where I led the team that invested $1 billion in Alibaba in 2005 for a stake ultimately sold for over $80 billion. I have been extremely fortunate to work closely with other incredible business mentors - Herb Allen (Allen & Company), Terry Semel (Yahoo) and Richard Branson (Virgin).

I love to partner with founders who aspire to positively change the world and support them and their teams through the ups and downs. As the co-founder of a venture firm, I also enjoy nurturing and developing our own incredible team of humans to enable us to find the most ambitious entrepreneurs in Europe and give them the help they need.

As a family man, nothing makes me happier than to hang out with my five Northern Irish-Moroccan-Israeli children and my superlative wife, reading, drinking wine, practising yoga and meditation and losing my voice at Arsenal football matches.
