Welcome Pascal Gauthier, our first Venture Partner

We are thrilled to announce that Pascal Gauthier is joining Mosaic as a Venture Partner. Former chief operating officer of Criteo, Pascal has a strong track record of building and scaling a global business, competing head-on with Google and Amazon. Criteo is one of the most successful venture-backed startups in Europe, valued at $2.5bn on NASDAQ today.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Pascal as an early investor and board member at Criteo, as well as during his time at Kelkoo and our time together at Yahoo!, and I'm delighted that he is going to bring his expertise and experience to the Mosaic family.

As a Venture Partner, Pascal will help identify new investments for Mosaic and provide strategic and operational advice to our portfolio of startups. He will continue to be based in Paris.

Pascal's day job remains CEO of Challenger Deep, a crypto-currency data and analytics startup he founded in 2014. He also serves as a board member at OpenX and Teads.tv, two of the most successful privately-held ad tech challengers in the market. Pascal has also been an active angel investor focused on early stage digital media, ad tech and cryptocurrency startups, including Bitpesa, Ledger, and Guidebook.

In his own words:

"I'm really excited to join the Mosaic journey. Having known Toby, Simon and Mike since 2004 when Yahoo! bought Kelkoo, I have no doubt there are great things ahead! I am really proud to become part of what I believe is one of the most talented and experienced venture firms in Europe today. Ambitious early-stage tech companies continue to emerge as the Paris ecosystem flourishes and, alongside my role as CEO of Challenger Deep, I look forward to meeting many of them as Venture Partner for Mosaic."
