Hi, I’m Toby, co-founder of Mosaic. I partner with founders building agentic AI applications and B2B machine learning products that automate and elevate real-world workflows. I’m especially drawn to companies where distribution, data advantage, and clear ROI create lasting defensibility, and to founders with deep domain insight and the ambition to build a category-defining business
Over 30 years in tech, I’ve had the chance to work on both sides of the table as an operator and an investor. In my formative Silicon Valley years, I served as Chief Strategy Officer at Yahoo, where I helped lead the team behind Yahoo’s $1B investment in Alibaba in 2005, and later as EVP of Yahoo Europe. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to learn from inspiring entrepreneurs and mentors, including Jerry Yang, Jack Ma, and Richard Branson.
Today at Mosaic, I draw deeply on those experiences to help founders navigate the transition from a great insight to a global scale-up. I work closely with teams at Auterion, Coram AI, Vortexa, and Blockchain.com, and prior to Mosaic I was an early investor in companies including Wise, Criteo, and Pinterest.
London is home, where life revolves around my wife and our five children. We love travelling together, especially across Asia and Latin America, and I try to stay balanced with a simple daily routine, usually involving sauna, cold plunge, yoga and meditation. On weekends, you’ll often find me at the Emirates, doing my best to lose my voice cheering for Arsenal.
