Reid is a Silicon Valley stalwart and Advisory Partner at Mosaic.
He is an entrepreneur and executive who has helped shape some of today's most important consumer internet companies including LinkedIn (which he co-founded and led for many years) and PayPal. As an investor, he was an early backer of Facebook, Airbnb, OpenAI, Zynga, and others. He is also co-founder of Manas AI and Inflection AI.
He earned a B.S. with distinction in symbolic systems from Stanford University and then earned a master’s degree in philosophy from Oxford University. He has honorary doctorate degrees from Babson University and the University of Oulu.
He is the co-author of the bestselling books Blitzscaling, The Start-up of You, The Alliance, Masters of Scale, Impromptu and most recently, Superagency: What Could Possibly Go Right with Our AI Future. He also hosts the podcasts Masters of Scale and Possible. Reid sits on the board of Microsoft and various other not-for-profits including Stanford's Human-Centered AI Institute, Kiva, Endeavor, and the CZI Biohub.
Beyond startups and technology, Reid has a wide range of interests, including politics, board games, science fiction, philosophy, and philanthropy. Reid has received various awards for his philanthropic work, including an honorary CBE from the Queen of England and the Salute to Greatness Award from the Martin Luther King Center.
