Hi, I'm Michael and I am a founding member of Mosaic Ventures, having teamed up with Simon and Toby at the inception of the firm. Over the years I have worn many hats - from fund formation to finance, HR, IT and legal too. Now, in my role as COO and General Counsel of Mosaic, I focus my efforts on executing investment transactions and ensuring the overall running of our funds.
Prior to Mosaic, I helped to found Virgin Green Fund (VGF), a cleantech-focused venture fund that was seeded with capital from Sir Richard Branson. Like with VGF, Mosaic has given me the opportunity to engage with incredible entrepreneurs toward building great companies that impact the world in truly positive ways. In my earlier years, I worked as a corporate lawyer in New York City, helped start a small financial services business that was sold to a large insurer and worked in a number of other start-ups. I have lived and worked in London and Sydney (AU), and I currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area (which makes for some very early morning starts!). You will often find me in London as well, as I travel there regularly.
