Director of Operations
Mosaic Ventures is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team as Director of Operations. You’ll be based in our office in London, and will be responsible to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, organized, smart, a team-player and detail-orientated to work alongside and support a high-performance investment team that is backing the most ambitious founders in Europe.
As Director of Operations, you will be tasked with working in a multi-disciplinary, highly cross-functional role to deliver and execute a broad set of projects and initiatives, in areas including a) talent and people, b) marketing, events and PR, c) technology and data infrastructure, and d) finance & administration. In order to do this, you will directly work on projects in a hands-on way, as well as coordinate and manage a number of part-time resources.
As for the people, you’ll be joining two co-founders with decades of experience as investors and operators in Europe and Silicon Valley together with our talented investment and operations teams. We founded Mosaic in 2014 as a small, collegiate partnership by design, and you can expect an open and straightforward culture. You can expect to:
Drive and coordinate the sourcing and recruiting of the talent we need to build a world class venture firm. F urther develop our talent brand and recruiting infrastructure to ensure it is professional, innovative, and scalable.
Oversee our people onboarding and talent management processes and ensure our team has the tools, support and resources to be successful.
Create learning and development programs and lead the performance management and review process.
Be a chief culture builder by developing and organising team building activities and experiences, enforcing codes of conduct and ensuring our workplace environment is inclusive, collaborative and fun.
Oversee and manage our marketing lead to organise and execute key events across Europe with our portfolio companies and the broader startup ecosystem, from small scale to large scale - identifying venues, curating guest lists, and managing the logistics and successful execution of our events.
Work with our marketing lead to deliver on other marketing communications, through content creation, communication and public outreach through the media and other key influencers.
Be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our technology and data infrastructure, including the hardware, software, tools, data services and third party support providers, that we use to run our business. Evaluate our currents tools and services on an ongoing basis against our spend and work with the investment team to further enhance our productivity through workflow and technology improvements.
Work with our COO and office manager to monitor our financial expenditures and identify opportunities for efficiency and savings across our business.
Spearhead new strategic projects and initiatives, working closely with the Founding Partners and Investment Team.
The person we’re looking for:
Loves operating with small teams and driving high performance and team effectiveness. 5-10 years of operational work - prior entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
True generalist with operational expertise who gets things done fast and meets deadlines with a can-do, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
Highly organized with strong coordination skills and great attention to detail, ensuring operational excellence in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written. You are patient, communicative, curious, and a collaborative team player. Ability to manage conflict and problem-solve creatively.
Self-starter and your own biggest critic, constantly challenging the status quo and finding new ways to solve old problems.
Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, strong work ethic, kindness, and high emotional intelligence.
