Mosaic Ventures Internship
Mosaic is looking for outstanding University and graduate/MBA students to join our investment team for three to six month placements (a good candidate may have the term extended).
You’ll be based in London and exposed to a huge range of technology markets and startups. Your primary role will be to map & research spaces thematically, in order to help identify attractive markets, and find/evaluate startups in those spaces that may be potential candidates for investment by Mosaic. Judgement, organisation, a love of technology and an ability to form and communicate opinions are all essential.
As for the people, we’re a team of 5 investment professionals, the firm was founded by 3 partners with decades of experience as investors and operators in Europe and Silicon Valley, investing across 10 countries in over 70 companies that together have created about $200 billion of value. The co-founders are supported by 2 talented associates who you’ll be working alongside. We founded Mosaic as a small equal partnership by design, and you can expect an open and straightforward culture. Also important, our values drive our behaviour and the same goes for everyone on our team. Our style is socratic, no-nonsense and collegiate, so being able to challenge others and defend your analysis & opinions is essential. Everyone at Mosaic looks out for each other and we laugh a lot too.
Day-to-day as a Mosaic intern, you can expect to be:
Researching for potential investments: this is likely to include deep dives, extensively mapping out various markets and segments, evaluating startups, and testing products and services. One question we like to ask is “what does Mosaic have to believe for this space to support an important, valuable ($500M-1B+ outcome) business?”
The person we’re looking for:
Has passion and curiosity for tech
Loves research. Can summarize a market and map competitors, suggesting filters to evaluate startups and defend your thesis to the team
Will be a driven self starter. Your work and time is open-ended by nature, and you must be able to identify and execute on opportunities to contribute to the team with modest management/direction
Has strong written and oral communication skills. You’ll also be organised, juggling a lot of balls in the air
Enjoys working in Excel, Google Docs (analysing data is an important part of what we do) and a variety of other online services - if you are unfamiliar, we can help teach you - we care about developing talent across the organisation
Has some coding experience (a plus, but not required)
Is eligible to work in the EU
Compensation is competitive. Please apply here including the answering the following questions.
